How God Uses the Unqualified to Market His Message...
The amazing thing about the apostle Peter is that while taking the "stage".. one fateful day... he approached a hungry crowd .. "unqualified"...Peter was a sinner among sinners.. a denier of Christ.. a coward.. and all he had was a memory... replaying in his head... over and over... of how not once.. but three times.. he denied a Savior...
It must have been cold there in that shadow... but as he spoke... he found the strength.. that surpassed his failures.. and gave him the courage... to market a Christ... he reminded the people that Jesus was not defeated in death... that decay never overcame a "deity"... and that this crowd needed hope... not in a "green planet" or "health coverage" or "less taxes".. these things were not important in the life to come...
what was important was repentance... acceptance of an "unknown"... faith in a God that we cannot see or touch or hear with our ears... 3,000 people came to Christ in that one day... due to the words uttered from what the world might consider a "failure"... Peter was handpicked long before he knew... his calling.. despite his lackings.. were for this day... and Peter instead of running... like he had his whole life... left his doubt and "common sense" behind... and followed his calling...
We are not on this planet to merely breath oxygen... to play with our smart phones.. to be entertained.. to just exist... we have a calling.. yet we get so caught up in the "unqualified"... we turn our backs on the "failures" of those around us...and forget that we all have made mistakes.. day in.. day out..
We dont speak up because we are imperfect... and sinful.. and we wait for others to do the job for us... and we miss.. opportunity after opportunity.. so that we can maintain a reputation that is meaningless... and menial... we are afraid to point the way to Christ because we feel unholy... but if God can use a "traitor" to lead 3,000 people to Him in one day... imagine our own "capibilities"... we must stop denying... and begin testifying... This is our true calling!
Wherever you are.. right now.. today.. use this opportunity to share the message of a Savior who gave everything.. including His life... to save us... the "unqualified"....
