Know-it-Alls and the Highest Score Only Looks Good Here

"Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice". (Proverbs 13:10) In the information age, it is almost implied that we all be "in-the-know" about everything. Knowledge is power right? and if we don't know something, than we may be viewed as slow or inept... and so.. in the process of learning.. we are many times ostracized by the "all-knowing" teacher... If we cut out all the crap.. the truth is sometimes knowledge is saturated in pride...

We want the credit... we fight for first chair... the best seat in the house..the best score... but.. we forget that the first shall be last and the last shall be first.. but when does that happen? Well... this happens in heaven.. are we willing to be servants on earth to be leaders in heaven? because as our "good deeds" don't get us into to heaven, they certainly determine what our "rank" will be when we get there...

Many people believe as I did for a long time that when we stand at the final judgement, all of our sins will be a revolving slide show played before God and everyone.. but I believe that God, who has already forgiven our sins and forgotten them, will not plaster them on the big screen.. instead the judgement seat will be a rewards banquet.. minus the red carpet and the press.. and we will receive our awards for our works on earth.. if we did not live for the Lord, than our rank will be low (like Call of Duty).. If we followed God on earth and lived for Him, we will receive a higher rank and position in His Kingdom.

That is why the Bible is saturated from Moses to Jesus to Paul with being a servant. Paul calls himself a "prisoner for the Lord" and a "captive for Christ". but this was not a bad or weak thing... it was brilliant.. because he was working for rewards not of this earth...

Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. This was disrespected by the religious brass of that time.. but Jesus knew that humility brings wealth and honor and life (Prov 22:4)... No one is attracted to pride. If in every conversation, you have to "advertise" your knowledge, than you are strangled with pride. If you expect the best and will have nothing less, you will leave a stench of disgust and not the sweet perfume of honor. If you cannot take advice, and must proclaim your proclivity to knowledge, than you, my friend, have a problem with pride. Pride is dangerous. Remember, "the wise in heart accepts commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin". (Prov 10:8)

Our "call of duty" is not to have to the highest rank world-wide, but to have the most assists (for the Lord).
