Occupy Heaven

Whether we like to believe it or not, Glenn Beck was right. Over six months ago, the world watched as Egypt, Libya, and other countries "occupied the streets" with some countries managing to overthrow the government. Beck told us it was coming. Not because he is a fortune teller, but because history always repeats itself.

Disorder never restores order. Chaos does not create peace. It is contagious. A small group of "activist" or "hacktivist" created the idea to occupy Wall Street and now cities in almost every state have occupied the streets to "peacefully protest" whatever cause they happen to want to sensationalize.

It is amazing how quickly the world has flocked to the streets to protest. Many have forsaken their homes to sleep on the streets. What a passion and for what? Earthly goals... Steve Jobs had earthly goals.. He changed the world.. and how we see it.. He did not occupy the streets. Instead he stated "A lot of people don't know what they want until you show it to them".

I watched a video tonight called "180". It was a dynamic and alarming short movie that included interviewing strangers on the streets about their beliefs. It was amazing how many people really had no idea what they believed or why they believed it, but in a short amount of time were able to see a different perspective.

We Christians have the ability and the obligation to share our faith with a desperate world that is championing causes that they know nothing about. They are screaming for freedom, but that is only temporary. No matter what solution may rise from "occupying".. the chaos.. the interruption.. the struggle.. will never end..

Anonymous can hack.. police can arrest.. people can tweet and FB all they want.. but the uncertainty of tomorrow will always be... The only certainty is Christ.. Occupying Heaven should be our biggest concern... No matter how much wealth.. power.. fame.. we.. like Steve Jobs.. will occupy somewhere... We have all fallen short.. We have all lied, stole, lusted, taken Gods name in vain.. (broken the ten commandments).. We are not worthy to occupy heaven... but Jesus.. like the protesters... took to the streets.. to champion the ultimate truth.. and that message still streams virally in every Bible.. in every home.. in every hotel room.. online and offline that He and only He can truly save every individual from occupying hell...

One of my friends from high school is standing on Wall Street today.. she wrote me to be careful about "serving money"... I have broken many commandments.. but my goal is to serve Christ.. How i wish to be a "advocate for Christ"... as stained as I may be.. I am far from perfect.. but God can use the most shattered vessels... May we all be brave enough to speak out.. about a Christ who took to the streets... so that we.. may Occupy Heaven...
