Depreciation Room

According to the Love Dare "there is a room in your heart called the 'Appreciation Room'". It is defined as the wonderful qualities that first drew you to the one you love. The walls are covered with words such as honest... intelligent... the amazing eyes...just some of these features that lured your lonely heart...the daily discovery of new traits attracting you to the one made soley for you...memories of first dates.. make the room dance...

As you reminisce to these times, you may self-evaluate how far u've come.. the journey... the room... is it littered in cobwebs... and graffiti of evil words... spite... despisal... criticism... as all those wonderful features have dissapeared in the fog of discontent...

Like a redecorated room, if daily cleaning is not employed... the room becomes littered with trash, dust, and heartache... Initially you spent many hours in this room, but as time takes its course... the room is left unattended... with little attention given... you rarely visit this room...thats because the "depreciation room" takes up most of your time... the "darker corridor of your heart"...you spend all of your time here and it leads to destruction...

This room is lined with weaknesses and failures of the one you once loved so dear... you dwell here... perfumed with depression... bitterness... selfishness.. anger...ammunition is rehearsed for the next debate...people fall out of love here...

Love chooses to close the door to the depreciation room realizing that we downplay our own negative traits but magnify those of the one we love... this room screams divorce and separation... but we must run from this room and slam the door...

we choose what room to enter.. we must not stare into the emptiness... brokenness.. but challenge ourselves to look for the amazing qualities each individual brings into our lives...

we forget... we forget... "Love believes all things, hopes all things..." I Corinthians 13:7
